My first front paged story on Digg

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

The past few weeks I’ve been adding lots and lots of friends on digg.

I’m up to about 300 now, 75 or so mutual friends.

You can share a digg story with them, which basically sends the story to all of them.

If they like it, they can digg it.

The first thing I submitted and shared with my friends hit the front page the next day.

Check it out, currently around 650 diggs

Back to the old

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

I’m moving back to my old theme temporarily until I can find something that’s more understandable. I was told that the new look of my blog was confusing, so I’m moving back to this simple theme for now.

Also…I want this monitor

My favorite TV network…Revision 3

Notables:
Diggnation
Totally Rad Show

I love watching Revision 3 shows on my iPhone when I’m cycling at the gym, passes the time and makes my workout go by a lot more quickly.

New theme

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

I changed the theme of my blog to one called Gridlock. I really like the look of it and it’s a lot better for embedding YouTube videos and pictures. The other theme didn’t have the capability of widgets either, which you see on the sidebar, like “recent comments” and “blogroll.”

I would like some feedback from you guys, my readers, as to what you think about the new theme. I’m going to try to add some more cool features to this blog in the future. Any ideas?

The most amazing game trailer I’ve ever seen…

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

EA just released a new Battlefield Heroes trailer and I think they finally understand what gamers really want. We don’t want games that require $2000 comps, $15 a month subscriptions, and we don’t even want to shell out $50 on something that we might only play once or twice.

We want free. And that’s what they’re giving us!

I’m really excited because Battlefield 1942 was my favorite shooter of all time, and this game looks like a cartoon version of it, for free. I love the Pirate Bay reference in the video, it made me laugh so hard. The whole video is hilarious. If this is a sign of where PC gaming is headed in the future, then sign me up.

The downfall of Blu-ray?

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

CNET says that “Digital downloads will be Blu-ray’s downfall.” I’m not so sure about this. There are a lot of folks out there with slow internet connections, including me, that would much rather purchase a hard copy then spend days downloading a movie the size of a dual layer Blu-ray disc (50 gigs). Take into account all of the storage space required for each movie…It’s not going to happen for at least 5 years.

Google Reader

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Over on one of my blogs, I talk about how to subscribe to RSS feeds with Google Reader. If you guys want to keep track of my blogs w/o having to go to each one every time, follow the instructions and then you can see all the new posts in one place.

Google Reader How-to

I’m finally doing it…

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

I’ve wanted to start a business for the longest time, and I’m currently in “need” of lots of things like a new computer, a new guitar, a new monitor, etc.

Wow, do I sound materialistic or what. At least the things I want have purpose…*cough* designer purses.

SO I have started a business. I have kept up with the “Web 2.0″ “blogosphere” culture for the past two and a half years, and it has always fascinated me. What has fascinated me more is the people who can make money doing easy things like blogging, designing flash games, podcasting, etc.

Add to that the fact that I “waste” a lot of time reading blogs, Digg, keeping up with gaming news, playing games, and so on. It would be logical to make money off of these interests.

This unique combination has led me to create a blog network, not just one blog, but five, and monetize it with ads and referrals. I’ve registered 6 domain names and added them to my already plentiful hosting plan.

You can check it out at [currently under construction] Boa Blogs. Enjoy.

Facebook for gamers

Friday, February 15th, 2008

I swear these people stole my idea. A new social network for gamers called UGAME just entered closed beta testing. I’m interested to see where this leads because I can see this concept taking off. I signed up for the closed beta, I’ll let you guys know when I get in.

TechCrunch has a post with more information about UGAME here.

Activision confirms Bond movie tie-in, new COD, two Guitar Heroes
“Two new Guitar Hero games were confirmed for the period between April 1 and June 30, 2008″

That means Guitar Hero this summer!!! Woo woo! GH4?

Super Smash Bros sells 800,000 in Japan
“SSBB was only the seventh game in the history of top Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu to be given a perfect score of 40 out of 40, so it was no surprise that the game has been flying off store shelves.”

I can’t wait til March 9! We’ll be in Colorado so I might have to wait a few days…boy is that trip going to seem long.

Harvest Moon comes out the Virtual Console

I’m going to buy this for sure. I’ve played it but only briefly, and from what I hear, it’s amazing. I’m gonna name my cow Skittles.
